Nationally Branded Participation Programs

The goal of the NMVA is to create a range of nationally branded programs that will focus on participation in the sport of volleyball. Doing so will not only increase overall participation, but will allow the NMVA to partner with national sponsors and unite our members under one national delivery model. Therefore, all NMVA Programs are nationally coordinated, but delivered through affiliated member associations and associate members.

In short, NMVA wants increased participation in volleyball in the community. To achieve this the organization has developed a series of programs to increase interest in Mini Volleyball, Coaching, Refereeing, and Development Camps. For the growth of the programs to be ensured participation must involve all member organizations for a national reach. Doing so will allow for national sponsors to participate and therefore better program funding.

Discover Mini-Volleyball:

The key elements of these programs involves the modification of the sport to allow younger athletes the opportunity for early success. These modifications include:

  • A lighter ball;.
  • A smaller court;.
  • A lower net;
  • Fewer players to encourage greater participation.

Coaching our Coaches:

NMVA coaching initiatives include Coaching Seminars, Coaching Camps, and our extensive web tools which include the use of private pages for coaching information and training videos.

Coloured Vest Program:

New officials are a welcome addition to any amateur sport organization. However, it’s important for everyone to remember that while in training, new officials need support and understanding to ensure they effectively develop their skills and overall confidence.

On the Road Camps:

NMVA “On the Road Camps” is a sport outreach program designed to provide sport enthusiasts in smaller communities and the inner city an opportunity to participate in top quality youth sport clinics. The primary goal of the program is to expose rural and inner city youth and their coaches to the skill development techniques being used by the NMVA.

All revenue generated by "On the Road Camps" go directly into the NMVA Facility Fund. These funds are used to purchase equipment (nets and poles), make improvements on existing indoor and outdoor facilities, and the purchase of indoor and outdoor facilities.
